The Autism Association of Barbados – Pilot Training Program & Respite Care Facility

The Autism Association of Barbados (AAB) was formed in March 2004 by several concerned individuals. Their vision was to create a community where persons suffering from the Autism Spectrum Disorder and their families receive respect, services and support based on individual differences, needs and preference.

Project Summary

The Trust provided funding over a three-year period for the establishment of a Pilot Project that would allow the AAB to experience the challenges of administering the larger program (which is to provide a residential and day care facility for sufferers of autism) on a smaller basis thus giving them the opportunity to understand and plan for the long term project. The Autism Association of Barbados Respite Home was officially opened on 23 April 2010.
